Medvedev the No. 5

Medvedev, the No. 5 seed, struggled to find his rhythm, allowing Muller, ranked 102, to gain confidence and push him to the limit. At one point, he even mistakenly believed a set was over, highlighting the intensity of the match.

Ultimately, he  managed to weather the storm and secure a hard-fought victory, winning 6-7(3), 7-6(4), 6-4, 7-5. Reflecting on the challenging match, he  acknowledged the difficulty he faced but expressed determination to perform better in the next round.

Conversely, Muller, who had never advanced beyond the second round in a Grand Slam, showcased remarkable resilience and fought gallantly against the higher-ranked opponent. Despite his efforts, he eventually succumbed to Medvedev’s relentless play.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both players displaying incredible skill and determination. As the crowd witnessed the thrilling contest, it became clear that Centre Court had once again set the stage for unforgettable tennis drama.
