Sarabjot, 22, is from the Ambala village of Dheen. His mother Hardeep Kaur is a stay-at-home mom, while his father Jatinder Singh is a farmer. He practiced under coach Abhishek Rana at the AR Shooting Academy in Ambala Cantt, which is located within the Central Phoenix Club, while attending DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
Sarabjot, a former footballer, turned his passion for shooting into a career after witnessing children aim at paper targets with pistols during a summer camp. Despite initial reluctance due to the sport’s cost, Sarabjot convinced his parents to support his decision. He began receiving professional coaching under Abhishek Rana, who has been his trainer since 2016.
Sarabjot won two gold medals at the 65th National Shooting Championships in December 2022, triumphing in the team event. At the 2021 Junior World Championship, he won gold medals in both team and mixed-team events. In March 2023, he won a gold medal with a perfect score of 16-0 in the first final match of the World Cup, securing first place with a total of 253.2 points.
